Novi Robotics Foundation

Supporting robotics in Novi. Expanding opportunity across Metro Detroit.

The Novi Robotics Foundation (NRF) supports youth robotics in Novi, Michigan, and the greater Metro Detroit area. We were established to sustain the robotics community in Novi and, especially, to help more young people throughout the region experience the possibilities of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Our mission is to support lasting opportunities for students to learn, build, collaborate, and lead through robotics. A student's first experience with a robot can become the beginning of years of discovery, friendships, and service to others.

A community of teams

All Novi teams in FIRST LEGO League (FLL), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) are part of the NRF community. This includes Frog Force, Automated Amphibians, Tech Warriors, Atomic Toads, and many other teams that give students a place to explore their interests and grow.

The foundation supports this shared mission across teams and age groups. Each team brings its own identity, projects, and accomplishments to the community.

Rooted in Novi, reaching beyond it

Our commitment extends beyond Novi's city limits. Expanding access to robotics across Metro Detroit is central to why the foundation exists. We believe more students should have the chance to learn alongside teammates, work with encouraging mentors, and discover what they can create.

Novi's robotics community has a history of sharing its experience with others. Frog Force documents examples of this work through its community initiatives, including projects in Detroit and efforts to make robotics more inclusive.

Our home

NRF operates out of the Novi Robotics Center, a dedicated facility opened by Novi Community School District for the local robotics community. It brings together space for building, testing, and practicing across the progression from FLL to FRC.

A charitable foundation

Novi Robotics Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3).
